Biography

Goort (van Dijck) van Dijk is geboren in Noord-Brabant in 1762

Goort was born on or just before 24 February 1762 in Stiphout in the Netherlands as child of Goort Henrici van Dijck and Maria Judoci van den Molenhof. He was baptized on 24 February 1762 in the Roman Catholic church of Stiphout.^[1]

On 1 May 1785 he married Hendrina van Duijnhoven, after they had registered their intention to marry on 16 April 1785. The marriage took place in Stiphout.^[2][3] The couple had at least eight children, of whom at least five survived until adulthood:

Goort was a farmer.^[12] He passed away on 19 July 1825 in Stiphout at the age of 63.^[12]

• Goort was baptized on 24 February 1762.^[1] In these times children were baptized as soon after birth as possible, to prevent that the child would die unbaptized (and could not go to heaven). Hence Goort would have been born on 24 February 1762 or in the days before.
